Angels' Share McLaren Vale Shiraz
Wine
Two Hands Wines Angels' Share McLaren Vale Shiraz is made with premium parcels of McLaren Vale fruit. No matter how small, each parcel is vinified separately to ensure complexity in the final wine.
The name Angels' Share refers to the small portion of wine that evaporates during maturation. Medieval winemakers believed angels watched over wines as they aged and would take their share.
The grapes are crushed and open fermented, each batch regularly pumped over to extract colour, flavour and tannin. The juice spends an average of two weeks on skins until it reaches dryness.
After pressing, the free run juice and pressings are blended and settled for 24 hours. The wine is then racked to French and American oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and 12 months under the angels' watchful eye.
Deep red purple, Two Hands Wines Angels' Share McLaren Vale Shiraz bursts with dark berry flavours, with a pop of acidity and fine, savoury tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
